Netcast #6 ready

My sixth netcast is now online for your enjoyment. I'm a little disappointed, all the files uploaded the first try and everything went smoothly. I did watch some of the video and it looks a little washed out. Looks like I have too much light. I'll work on that for next week. In this week's show I talk about using Migrateuser to fix deleted user permissions, all the new stuff there is to know about SharePoint 2007 SP2 and SharePoint 2010 and I explain how to stick Teflon to a pan, when nothing stick to Teflon.

As always I welcome your questions, comments and suggestions.

Removing a server

In your netcast you discussed adding a server to a farm but I would like to remove a server - a query/index server in the farm.  I did not install MOSS but it appears we have two servers in the query/index role and since we are not using search and SharePoint is very slowly being introduced to our company we need to remove one of the servers.  Is the process to only uninstall MOSS through Add/remove programs on the server I want to remove?
Thank you - I have enjoyed the netcasts.

Account used to install SharePoint

Hi Todd

I think it was from netcast 6, you were trying to find the account used to install SharePoint. Open SQL Management Studio and check the owner of the SharePoint_Config DB. this should be the account used to install SharePoint. At least it was for the couple of Farms I check in my installs

cheers

Josh
